TelexFree under investigation in Brazil for pyramid / ponzi scheme

TelexFree, which offers both a mobile phone service plan (reselling a local service) and a $299 "Ad Central" membership where you put in money, then able to make back a lot more over course of a year by posting merely one ad a day (making $20 a week). There's also recruiting commissions.

BehindMLM checked Telex Free and essentially concluded it's a mix between Ad Surf Daily ponzi and Zeek Rewards ponzi. But it's still a Ponzi, albeit mixed with a legitimate product.

Apparently Brazilian regulators agreed. Their Bureau of Consumer Protection just investigated TelexFree and forwarded the case to State Prosecutor's office and Police for legal charges to be filed. Ministry of Finance and Federal Police were also notified.

Prospective members claimed that the income is guaranteed and supposedly a lawyer is speaking for the company. As I do not speak Portuguese I cannot locate the ad or understand it, so this is mere hearsay.

This "enterprise" is trying to move onto other countries, including the US. Several American "home income" blogs have started touting its "potential" in the last few days.

  1. Which Ad haven´t you could locate or understand? Today a friend of mine introduced me Telexfree and said he has already received back R$ 1,600.00, about US$ 800.00. But I'm still not convinced.

    1. I have no idea what ad you're referring to, and getting paid does NOT prove that a scheme is legal. It only proves it doesn't take your money and run (yet).

    1. My Spanish is rusty so I'll reply in English, but I understand you just fine.

You claim I was wrong, but instead of proving me wrong by citing verifiable facts or spotting logic problems, you merely tell me to investigate some more.

Why? You have given me no reason to.

Yet you call me ignorant, when you can't cite any facts that prove I am ignorant.

That makes you the one with the dirty mouth calling people names.

Perhaps, like the American movie saying, "You can't handle the truth."

      Perhaps this Spanish saying applies:

aunque lo que dicen no es, con que lo aseguren basta

But you like the assurances, you believe them.

      That's "fe", not "realidad".

  5. Telexfree: MP / AC enters with injunctive and Justice prohibits new registrations and payments

The Prosecutor of the State of Acre (MP / AC), through the District Attorney's Consumer Protection and Prosecution of Human Rights, filed a restraining preparatory civil action to the detriment of the company Ympactus Comercial Ltda., Known for Telexfree fancy name. According to prosecutors Nicole Gonzalez Arnoldi Colombo and Marco Aurélio Ribeiro, the company uses the practice of financial pyramid.

According to investigations, the Telexfree, who claims to be a multilevel marketing company, it is actually a scam known as the financial pyramid, which, to be unsustainable and cause harm to many people, is illegal. The method adopted for registering, publishers need pretended to invest to ensure adherence. Each new member buys a 'package' that pays members who are up in jail.

"What differs from multilevel marketing pyramid schemes is that in the former, the focus is on selling products, whereas the other, the focus is recruiting people to invest more. In multilevel marketing real, pays only sales by recruited and never pure and simple recruitment, "explain the Promoters.

Also according to the action, the financial pyramids, the sale of the product or service is just a way of masking the blow. In the case of Telexfree that is not registered with the Brazilian Association of Direct Selling Companies (DSA), the company operates with the provision or sale of VoIP telephony services (via the internet). To become a publisher, the new member purchase certain accounts package, according to the plan you join, but whether or not he sell that service, he will earn money if you can recruit others to make new investments, and posting ads on sites previously established by Telexfree.

Was also given to the company presentation in court, within ten days, under penalty of a daily fine of $ 500,000.00 (five hundred thousand reais).

  6. Telexshit is a Ponzi Scheme in Brazil and worldwide. Proof? The business core is just new enrollments (finite - has an end). The expensive and un-usefull product they sell, is just a camouflage (not even Telexshit promoters know about Telexshit voip product). Telexshit scammers receiving money today, will defend the scheme to the death as long as they can... of course, because they will receive tons of money from the victims.
PLEASE SOMEONE STOP THESE PEOPLE IN BRAZIL AND WORLDWIDE.

  10. Until they got shut by Brazilian courts... 11 months ago.

And if they are dumb enough to do it in the US, they'll get shut here too.

  11. Hey guys! My name´s Jorge, I´m from Brazil, Marataízes city. Well, the telexfree got a lot oportunity for better life conditions to our population until courts breaked them, few months ago. Despite that, the telexfree continues to operating in USA, without problem with courts since 2002. I believe that USA courst is more serious than brazilian courts. I don´t believe that telexfree would operate for long time without any problem in USA. Sorry for my bad english language, but i think the telexfree is serius business job. This is I guess. Thank you. God bless you all in America.

    1. it's not shut in the US because it did not do ANYTHING in the US for many years... until last year when they got shut down in Brazil.

So your reason for your assessment of "safe and serious" is very much flawed.
